April 25, 2004-Braselton GA- In just their second race in the Speed World Challenge Series drivers Chris Tindol and Scott Fredricksen piloted their SparcoUSA/Oakley/Mazdaspeed Protégé's to a 6th and 7th place finish in the Sport Compact Grand Prix, part of the Drift Atlanta weekend at Road Atlanta.
The #97 SparcoUSA/Oakley/Mazdaspeed Protégé driven by Chris Tindol started the race in 7th, his finishing position from Saturday's qualifying race on the 2.54 mile Road Atlanta circuit. Chris drove a consistent race finishing in 7th position and garnering valuable experience for the return to Atlanta in September.
Scott Fredricksen, piloting the #96 SparcoUSA/Oakley/Mazdaspeed Protégé had to start Sunday's Sport Compact Grand Prix from 13th position following mechanical problems during the Saturday qualifying race. Scott charged into the top 5 by lap ten before settling into 6th position where he finished the race.
"I would like to thank everyone on the team for all of the work they did on my car this weekend. It makes me proud to be associated with Tindol Motorsports" said Fredricksen. "This is only our second race in the Speed World Challenge series and I think we are well ahead of schedule. We will be battling with the top teams before long!"
Round two of the SCCA Speed World Challenge Touring Car Championship takes place at Lime Rock Park May 29-31, as part of the Mohegan Sun presents the Lime Rock Park Grand Prix.
