CRP Racing Fined For Mosport World Challenge Violation

TOPEKA, Kan. (July 1, 2010) -- SCCA Pro Racing today assessed penalties on the No. 2 CRP Racing Chevrolet Corvette team as a result of a rules violation in the week prior to the World Challenge Championships event at Mosport International Raceway, May 21 -- 23.

CRP Racing was fined $1500 and driver Ron Fellows was penalized 50 Drivers' Championship points for violation of SCCA Pro Racing Article 1.3.5.3 prohibiting pre-race testing during the seven calendar days prior to the first day of official sessions.

The fine money will be split equally among three separate charities: the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a partnership charity of MTM Special Ops watches; Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, and Samaritan's Feet.

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation is devoted to providing a college education to every child who has lost a parent while serving in Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps Special Operations during an operational or training mission. Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy is a fight against muscular dystrophy, while Samaritan's Feet provides shoes for children in need.

More information on the three charities is available at www.specialops.org, www.samaritansfeet.org, and www.parentprojectmd.org.
