TOPEKA, Kan. (Nov. 14, 2003) -- The season finale of the SCCA Speed World Challenge Touring Car and Speed World Challenge GT Championships from the Puerto Rico Grand Prix Oct. 24-26 will air at 4:00 p.m. (EST) and 5:00 p.m. (EST), respectively, Saturday, Nov. 15 on Speed Channel.

In SCCA Speed Touring Car, with the quick turnaround for teams between the Road Atlanta and Puerto Rico races, look for many of the drivers who did well at Road Atlanta to carry that momentum with them to the Caribbean island. But, don't be surprised if "lady luck" plays a roll from the very start.

In SCCA Speed GT, the Speed GT Drivers Championship will come down to a 50-minute sprint to the finish between point leader Randy Pobst and Bill Auberlen for the title. Prior to the Road Atlanta race, Auberlen had a 20-point lead over Pobst and looked poised to run away with the Speed GT Drivers' Championship. But mechanical trouble forced Auberlen to retire on lap 13, scoring zero points. Meanwhile, Pobst went on to win the race and, in the process, picked up 33 points for his effort. Pobst now leads the Championship with 221 points heading into the Puerto Rico Grand Prix -- 12 more than Auberlen. There are a variety of scenarios to determine the next Speed GT Drivers' Champion, however, Pobst can clinch the Championship if he finishes fourth or better, regardless of where Auberlen finishes. Auberlen wins any tiebreaker scenarios because he has won three races this season.

The SCCA Speed World Challenge Championships are made-for-television series featuring some of the best drivers and production cars in the world, utilizing some of the best aftermarket parts the industry has to offer.
