BRASELTON, Ga. (October 16, 2003) -- For the seventh time this season, local Georgia resident Randy Pobst and his #2 Audi RS 6 will be starting on the front row for Friday's ninth round of the SPEED World Challenge GT Series. Pobst, who set the fastest time in this morning's practice session, missed pole position by less than a second.
"I think we are genuinely competitive here for the first time in terms of a win and I want to get a win for Champion Racing," said Pobst. "The car is running the best it ever has so I really think we have a shot this time."
Michael Galati, driver of the #1 Audi RS 6, will start in the third row in 6th position. "The car is running great but today it was driver error," said Galati. "I missed a shift on my best lap and messed up. I'm pretty confident though that I can make up a few spots on the start as the quattro always gets me started faster than all the other cars."
The SPEED World Series GT race is Friday at 3:30 p.m. Eastern.
