Audi S4s at Road Atlanta
Braselton, Georgia -- The Audi S4s of Michael Galati, Derek Bell and Paul Edwards took to the Road Atlanta circuit today for an open test session prior to the ninth round of the SCCA Pro Racing Speed Channel GT Series race to be run on Friday.
Galati, driving the number one Champion Audi/Audi S4 Competition, is currently leading the points standings with 221 some 23 points over his second place pursuer. "I have a nice lead in the points, but anything can happen. We are finding in testing today that we are little slower than the Porsche cars, we need to focus on a top three finish so we still have a lead going into the final race at Virginia."
Derek Bell, driving the number two Legends of Motorsport Audi S4 Competition, is currently seventh in the points with 146. "We are going as fast in practice today as we qualified here last year, the problem is everyone else is a little faster as well. We will really have to work if we are going to close the gap to the Porsche guys."
Rejoining the team for his second race is Paul Edwards, driving the number three Champion Audi/Audi S4 Competition. After his first race at Laguna was met with mixed results, setting fastest race lap and subsequently being put on probation by the SCCA for rough driving, Edwards is ready for Road Atlanta. "Road Atlanta is one of the best tracks I have ever driven. I like the tricky parts from the down hill final turn into the fast first turn - great! As far as my probation goes, I just need to get used to the guys in the series and how they drive. I am looking forward to another competitive weekend."
The Road Atlanta Speed GT race will air on the Speed Channel, Saturday, October 26 at 9:00 p.m.
