CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- RAEL, leader of the Raelian Religion, will participate on March 31st in the Speedvision GT World Challenge full championship with one of the Lotus Esprit Turbo of the Move It Motorsport Team. RAEL, 53 years old, who was born in France, is now living in Valcourt, Quebec, Canada. He was a professional driver in 1974 in France before starting his Organization, the Raelian Religion. He got the pole position at his very first race in the AUDI cup in France in 1974, finished 4th in the championship, and was rookie of the year. After more than 20 years away from racing -- due to his religious activities with his organization of 50,000 members strong -- he did a comeback a few years ago in Japan and then in North America. Among his best results: a 3rd place finish in GT 1 in Lime Rock with the Mosler Raptor in 1997, and a 7th place finish at Watkins Glenn with a Viper GTS R in the FIA GT 1999 race. RAEL's Move it Motorsport Lotus Esprit Turbo will be sponsored by his religious organization www.rael.org and by the world's first UFO museum created by RAEL in Valcourt, Quebec, Canada, www.ufoland.com . RAEL declares: "The 2000 Speedvision GT World Challenge looks great with so many entrants. It will be the most interesting series in North America. Short races with a lot of actions, this is the new trend in motor sports racing and this is great. The public wants a good show, and only short races can provide it. In endurance races, after one hour with pit stops, nobody knows who is leading... The future is short races, maybe two even shorter sprints. And with the help of Speedvision, I hope that soon each car will have a camera with interactive technology that each viewer will be able to select which camera viewing he wants to see on his screen. With the quality and number of this year's field, I will be very happy if I can have some top ten finishes..."
