LEXINGTON, Ohio (Aug. 9, 2003) --TriPoint Motorsports driver Shauna Marinus, of Folsom, Calif., was the fastest in the Saturday afternoon SCCA Speed World Challenge Touring Car practice session for the Champ Car Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio race.

Marinus, driver of the No. 4 TriPoint Motorsports Mazda Protege ES, led practice for the second-consecutive day, turning a fast lap at 1:39.079 (82.044 mph). Marinus' practice time was faster than the Speed Touring Car qualifying record set last year at Mid-Ohio by Paul Lambert who turned a lap of 1:40.843.

Bob Endicott, of San Pedro, Calif., drove his No. 64 Acura RSX-S to the second quickest practice time, followed by Jeff Altenburg, of Ellicott City, Md., Mike Fitzgerald, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Peter Cunningham, of W. Bend, Wis.

Marinus also led Friday's session, with a fast time of 1:39.121 (82.008 mph).

Qualifying for the Champ Car Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio SCCA Speed World Challenge Touring Car race is set for 4:45 p.m. (EDT) Saturday, Aug. 9.
