CENTENNIAL, Colo. (April 19, 2002)-SCCA Pro Racing Ltd. announced today that it has retained renowned public relations firm Hill & Knowlton, Inc. to provide an extensive media training seminar at Lime Rock Park for its Speed World Challenge drivers.

Hill & Knowlton training personnel will put on a three-hour workshop seminar for both drivers and team owners May 26, an off day during the Lime Rock Park Grand Prix.

"We're committed to provide our drivers and teams a tremendous value with the Speed World Challenge series, and bringing one of the largest PR firms in the world on board to provide this service is a very important piece of the program," said Steve Johnson, SCCA Pro Racing President. "Our drivers will be trained by the same people who have worked with the biggest names in sports. We're thrilled to be able to team with Hill & Knowlton in providing this curriculum, which will translate into a tremendous value for our series' and race team sponsors."

One of the largest public relations agencies in the world, Hill & Knowlton has 68 offices in 34 countries. Its automotive and sports marketing group is headquartered in Irvine, Calif., and has established itself as an industry leader with clients such as Ford Motor Company, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, International Olympic Committee, Mazda, NHRA, NHL, Procter & Gamble and many more. It has also provided media training for top athletes, including: Mark McGwire, Wayne Gretzky, Shaquille O'Neal, Michael Jordan, Joe Montana, Steve Young, Drew Bledsoe, Mary Lou Retton, Oscar de la Hoya, Mia Hamm and many more.

"We're looking forward to working with the SCCA and Speed World Challenge drivers," said John Eckel, Hill & Knowlton, Inc. Senior Managing Director and Director of U.S. Sports Marketing. "The World Challenge series is an excellent product, and we believe our service will further elevate this series in the motorsports marketplace."

The seminar will be led by managing director Lisa McAllister, who provides a motorsports perspective from her years working with the automotive media for Michelin, BFGoodrich Tires, Mazda and many automotive suppliers. Top trainers Jeff Mangum and Tina Ruggiero out of the Hill & Knowlton New York office will join McAllister. Both Mangum and Ruggiero began their careers as journalists, and have trained top executives from many of Hill & Knowlton's Fortune 500 clients.

"We have some of the most talented, personable and entertaining drivers in motorsports today, but most of them have no formal media training," said Mitch Wright, SCCA Pro Racing Vice President and World Challenge General Manager. "I had a similar opportunity while driving for a factory team in the early 1990s and found it extremely valuable. We want our drivers' careers and resumes to grow, and Hill & Knowlton's program will be a tremendous benefit."
