Cary, IL - Daggett Racing today announced that Lester Building Systems, LLC, one of the nation's top pre-engineered building manufacturers, has joined the team as the primary sponsor on their #22 SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge® Championships entry for the 2005 season.

Lester Buildings' sponsorship includes three races in the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED GT Championship division, starting with the Champ Car Grand Prix of Cleveland on June 26, 2005 at Burke Lakefront Airport Course, Cleveland, OH.

A veteran SCCA racer, Cheyne Daggett will drive the Lester Buildings Ford Mustang with Dave Wheeler as his crew chief. "We're thrilled to be making our first professional racing attempt this year and racing under the Lester Buildings Racing banner makes it even more exciting," said driver and owner of Daggett Racing, Cheyne Daggett. "I've been working toward this goal for nine years gaining experience in SCCA Club Racing."

Daggett began SCCA competition in 1996 racing in ITA and F Production classes. In 1999 he won the MCSCC D Production Championships driving a 1980 Porsche 924, then made the move to GT1 for the 2000 season. His stand out race of the season came at the Road America June Sprints at Elkhart Lake, WI, finishing 12th overall after starting 22nd. He raced a limited GT1 schedule in 2002 and 2003 in the Midwest and Central Divisions driving an Oldsmobile Cutlass. In 2004 he competed and finished fourth in the SCCA Touring 1 Class in the Midwest Division and qualified for the SCCA Runoffs at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. After experiencing mechanical problems he finished 27th overall but was the highest placing T1 Ford.

Daggett also plans to enter this year's SPEED GT races on August 14, 2005 at Denver, CO and on October 16 at Monterey, CA.

Lester Buildings' Marketing Manager, Tom Borgman commented, "Lester is deeply involved with various motorsports. Currently we sponsor the #56 car in the NASCAR Busch Series, the nation's best known dirt late model racer, Chub Frank and the National Tractor Pullers Association. Our involvement with the SCCA is simply a natural progression." Borgman continued, "Motorsports enthusiasts tend to be active, mobile types who own boats, RVs, snowmobiles, motorcycles, hobby cars, what have you. They simply have a need for storage and work space. And with Lester under new ownership since July 2004, motorsports marketing is helping us show up on the huge consumer market's radar screen with some real impact!"

Lester Buildings Systems LLC, with plants in Minnesota, Illinois and Virginia, is one of the largest manufacturers of engineered buildings in the United States, covering a broad range of building types - from simple "pole barns," hobby shops and equestrian buildings to many types of commercial structures. Over 130,000 Lester buildings can be found throughout the United States, many of which are race shops for the likes of well-known racers like Tim Sauter.
