Lime Rock, Connecticut, The Champion Audi/Audi North America team is hoping to carry the momentum of two top ten finishes from Mosport into the Lime Rock weekend.
On the heels of Michael Galati's second place finish and Derek Bell's seventh place at Mosport, the Audi team hopes to improve on these finishes as the Lime Rock track. The layout of this historic circuit more closely suites the S4 Competition, especially the quattro drivetrain.
"I think we should be a little bit better at Lime Rock. We are going to have a day to test again before the race allowing us to get more comfortable with the car. It is a momentum track that rewards handling, the shorter the track the better for us right now. Our competition should come from the BMW's and Porsche's because they are 400lbs. lighter," commented Michael Galati, driver of the number 9 Audi Sport North America S4.
"We were able to get a lot of good track time at Mosport with another day of testing planned for Lime Rock we should be even better," said Derek Bell, driver of the number 8 Legends of Motorsport/Champion Audi/Audi S4 Competition. "Lime Rock does not have a long straight for the V-8's, so we should be on a more even performance level."
"We are encouraged with the evolution of the S4 Competition," said Rod Bymaster, manager Audi Sport North America. "The testing is paying dividends as we learn what the car needs to go fast and be competitive with a very strong GT field."
Derek Bell is currently sixth in the Speedvision GT Series points with Galati in ninth going into the Lime Rock weekend.
