ARCHER FINE REDUCED AFTER APPEAL HEARING

PORTLAND, Ore. (July 31, 2005) -- SCCA Pro Racing announced today the decision of the Court of Appeals, which convened on the Tommy Archer penalty as a result of contact in the SCCA SPEED GT race at Infineon Raceway.

Archer had initially been fined five points, $3,000 and placed on probation for an additional two events. Archer had been on probation (for an incident in Cleveland) when he had contact with Max Papis during the Round Seven race at Infineon.

Following the ruling of the SCCA Pro Racing Chief Stewart, Archer appealed.

The Court, consisting of Marty Kaufman, James Foyle and Brian Kohl, ruled that the five point penalty and probationary period would stay, but rescinded the $3,000 fine.

Both Archer and Papis are competing in Round Eight of the Championship at Portland International Raceway, which starts today at 2:25 p.m. (PDT).
