BONILLA WINS STAR MAZDA PRESENTED BY GOODYEAR OPENER

SEBRING, Fla. (March 17, 2006) -- Gerardo Bonilla won the season-opening race for the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear at Sebring International Raceway to cap a record setting weekend for the series.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for Star Mazda racing and the tires provided for the Sebring event drew high praise from the competitors.

Brad Jaeger, another Anderson-Walko driver, won the pole for the event and set a track record by averaging 110.081 mph in qualifying. Jaeger said, "Our Goodyear tires were good. The 250 compound has so much grip that you can go out and do a lot right away. We only had a couple of laps but the Goodyear tires allowed me to put forth a great effort and allowed us to get the pole."

Bonilla, driving for Anderson-Walko Racing, started fifth but took the lead on a restart to begin the fourth lap around the 3.7-mile Sebring circuit and held the top spot the rest of the way. Jaeger's race ended by an accident a short time later.

Daniel Harrington finished second, 4.87 seconds behind the winner. Adrian Carrio was third, followed by Matt Varsha and Mike Potekhen.

Bonilla is a racing school instructor and a former driver of the monorail at Disney World. He said, "When you're driving the monorail it gives you a lot of time to think about racing and to plan your moves and your attacks."
