"Moves into a tie for second in the championship"

Oakville, Ontario -- August 22, 2005. -- AIM Autosport pilot James Hinchcliffe (Noco Racing, Mobil 1, Pit Fit Training, AIM Autosport #98), scored his second victory of the year in the 2005 Star Mazda Series presented by Goodyear. The talented Canadian was able to take the checkers at the famed Road America and move into a tie for second in the overall series championship.

Lining up in the third spot on the grid, Hinchcliffe would escape a first corner incident that knocked out several contenders, and then jump into the lead with a daring pass on the current point leader, Raphael Matos, when the green flag came out again on lap six.

"I've had some pretty good restarts this season, but at our last race at Portland I wound up losing the lead on a restart and I made sure that that wouldn't happen again," explained Hinchcliffe. "When the green flag came back out I was able to get a good draft on Raphael and jump into the lead. It was sweet redemption for a lost race in Portland!"

Hinchcliffe's position would be anything but secure as the caution flag came out one lap later and this time he would find himself having to defend the lead.

"I knew Raphael would try to get the spot back on the restart but I was able to get a solid start and he wasn't close enough to draft his way past. This is an incredible result for the team and it really strengthens our position in the points chase as I will look to move closer to the lead at my home event at Mosport. "

Hinchcliffe's next on track activity will be Labor Day weekend as he will contend in his hometown event at Mosport International Raceway.
