JOHN WALKO RACING PREPARED FOR SEASON AHEAD
Team moved into new facility and begins rigorous testing schedule
TRAFFORD, PA (January 16, 2006) -- Newly formed John Walko Racing has confirmed their inclusion in the 2006 Pro STAR Mazda Championship with a three-car effort. The team recently moved into a new state-of-the-art race shop with three complete car prep bays, offices, reception area and a break room and just took order of their 50-foot race hauler. John Walko, formerly a partner of Andersen Walko Racing, is excited about the new season.
"I am really pleased that we have gotten everything together as quickly as we have," said Walko. "The hard part was already done, as we as I didn't need to build a new team. The staff that has been so successful over the past few years is the same, we just needed some new equipment and that all came together perfectly."
John Walko Racing will begin testing in February at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, SC and is seeking interested drivers looking to enter the STAR Mazda series. JWR has put together a rigorous testing schedule that has them visit Kershaw, VIR, Mid-Ohio and do private oval track testing to prepare for the upcoming season. 2006 season testing programs and full or partial race seats available. "I am looking forward to working with the team and people that I get along with so well," said Andrew Prendeville, JWR Marketing & Promotions Director. "When Sebring comes, we will be ready. The shop is functional, the new hauler is fantastic and the crew is ready to start testing."
John Walko Racing has plans to be very active in Trafford, PA, where the community has welcomed the team's presence.
"We are happy to be a part of the Trafford community and want to be involved with local events and promotions both here and in the greater Pittsburgh area," said Prendeville. "Community involvement will be a part of our promotional efforts. We are working hard here on sponsorship programs and assisting drivers with completing their programs. Though drivers may have their own sponsors, we have a team marketing plan as well and will be very active in seeking team sponsorship and quality business partnerships."
