HOUSTON, TEXAS Saskatoon racer, Michael Duncalfe headed into the second round of the 2007 Star Mazda Series with high hopes after a disappointing first weekend at Sebring just a few weeks ago. The Star Mazda rookie had completed a two day test with his AIM Autosport Team and things were heading in the right direction.

"I am definitely looking forward to Houston as I have never driven a Formula Mazda on a street course before and I think I will be able to adapt to the track quickly, " Duncalfe said. "We just completed a successful two day test at Miller Motorsport Park were we running very competitive times, every time I get in the car I keep getting quicker and quicker. I think it is a testament to how hard the entire Aim Autosport team is working; we all want to win and are doing whatever it takes to achieve our goals."

Duncalfe used the first practice to learn the track and then was moving up the qualifying order when he was t-boned by another competitor, which left him 19th on the grid. "It's very disappointing," Duncalfe said. "We had a top ten car for sure, but the accident cut our session short."

Starting from 19th on a street track is difficult, but Duncalfe managed to avoid being involved in accidents that resulted in four full cause cautions, but he did suffer some front wing damage that slowed his progress forward. Duncalfe came home with a top 20 position, in 16th.

"It's definitely not the result we were looking for, but we'll just keep building on this, work hard and be better at Virginia next weekend," Duncalfe said after the race.
