Andersen Racing Names Foschi Director of Business Development

FAIRFIELD, N.J., Feb. 23 - Mike Foschi of Bayport, N.Y., who along with Dan Andersen owned and operated the successful U.S. Formula 2000 national championship series in the nineties, has joined his former partner's Star Mazda racing team, Andersen Racing, as its director of business development.

Foschi's duties will be to identify and secure both sponsorship and funded drivers for the team, one of the top formula car teams in North America.

Foschi, 48, brings a wealth of experience to his position accumulated from owning a prep shop, running the U.S. F2000 series, and working with different sponsors and race tracks on a wide variety of issues throughout the years.

"Mike and I had a terrific partnership for 10 years with the F2000 Pro series, and I have the utmost respect for his business acumen and deal-making ability," said Andersen. "I believe he will be an important part of the team's growth as we seek business and marketing partners and expand into higher levels of the sport."

"Dan and I have concentrated on the formula car development series for quite some time and we've given many of today's stars a good start in the sport," Foschi noted. "My job, as I see it, is to make sure that our team remains the premier team in the Star Mazda series and to take steps to advance our team and drivers to the highest levels of both the formula and sports car arenas, and ultimately Indy cars and the Indy 500."

Based in Fairfield, N.J., Andersen Racing has three drivers signed for the 2006 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear and is seeking a fourth. Brad Jaeger of Cincinnati, Gerardo Bonilla of Orlando, Fla. and Ramiro Scuncio of Argentina have already been announced as drivers for the team this year and they're busy preparing for the season opener March 17 in Sebring, Fla.

The team's Web site is at andersenracingteam.com.
