Anders Krohn forced off track at Road Atlanta

The hopes of a top-5 finish in round 12 of the Star Mazda Championship disappeared quickly when Norwegian racer Anders Krohn was forced off the track while passing for 4th after a great start. The weekend started off well with Anders being quickest in the first practice, and went on to qualify 5th in his #27 Trallfa/Colosseum/Mundill Star Mazda car.

Getting a great launch off the line, Anders looked set to take 4th, but was forced off the track by a driver who had a much slower getaway. Falling towards the rear of the field, the 21-year old had his work cut out to gain back as many places in the 45 minute timed race as possible. After 33 laps of all out racing, Anders crossed the finish line in 9th.

Anders currently sits 7th in the Overall Championship, and 4th in the Rookie Championship. Only few points separate him from the top six in the championship. Only one race remains on the 2009 Star Mazda calendar, and it will be held at Laguna Seca in California on October 10th.

"Neither Mundill or I had the weekend we had hoped for, but we showed some speed which was good. We're looking forward to Laguna Seca and hope that we can release some more of our potential there. I'd like to send big thanks to Trallfa Industries, Colosseum, Antenor, KNA and ZAT Graphics for their continued support."
