Anders Krohn with impressive podium in season finale

Anders Krohn crossed the finish line as 3rd after 45 minutes of hard racing at the legendary Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca track. But it wasn't an easy race for the driver of the #27 Trallfa/Colosseum/Mundill Star Mazda car. Starting 8th on the grid after a difficult qualifying session, Anders had his work cut out in order to get a good result. The 21-year old Norwegian who has earned the nick-name "The Viking", kept his head cool and gained positions through other drivers mistakes.

By mid race he was in third place and catching the leaders. Anders finally caught up with the second placed car, but could not do anything due to a massive aero understeer. Once he realized there were no opportunities to pass, Anders held back and secured the third place finish. A great way to end a season that has seen lot's of ups and downs for the Norwegian and his Mundill team.

Anders comments about the race: "It was an interesting race for sure. I made one pass at the start, but after that it was all about pressuring other drivers into mistakes as it is virtually impossible to pass cars of similar speed at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. This was my first time at this track, and I enjoyed myself very much. Finishing third after starting eighth was great, and it is always good to end the season on a high like this."

Anders won one race, the Milwaukee Mile 100, and finished inside the Top-6 seven times during the year. He ended up 6th in the Overall Championship Standings, and also captured 3rd in the Rookie Standings. With the 2009 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear season now over, the focus shifts to 2010.

"First off I'd like to thank Mundill for all of their efforts during the season. They've been working flat out all year long. Also I would like to say thank you to my sponsors Trallfa Industries, Colosseum Dental, Antenor, KNA and ZAT Graphics for their continued support. Without them this wouldn't happen. As far as 2010 is concerned, I have no details around what or where I will race, but the aim remains the same as always: to win races and challenge for a championship title. Time will show."
