JOTA SPORT GEARED UP FOR NEW CHALLENGE

Jota Sport made their final preparations this week as they ready themselves for their debut season in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB. The team, formed as a division of successful sportscar outfit Team Jota, head to Brands Hatch for the opening round of the championship this weekend in confident mood.

Having signed 2007 race-winner Sam Hancock and 2006 Pro-Am champion Phil Quaife, Jota Sport have a driver line up capable of regularly fighting for race wins, with both having indicated their desire to push for the title. The team also have two brand new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars at their disposal and despite spending Tuesday's final group test ironing out a few ‘new car' technical issues, they hope to be bang on the pace this weekend.

Sam Hignett: "After a long winter everyone is chomping at the bit to go racing again. We've had a long wait to get our hands on the new cars, so testing time has been limited, but whilst we have had a few small issues, the whole team is working hard to make sure everything is perfect for Brands.

"We have signed two strong drivers, all our team members are very professional and we're ready to knuckle down and target a good result this weekend."

Sam Hancock: "The boys have been flat out all over Easter and they've done a phenomenal job to get the cars ready. To have turned everything around in the few days they've had since the cars arrived is nothing short of amazing; so a big thank you to all of them."

Phil Quaife: "I'm delighted to be with Jota Sport and I can't wait for the first race. I've met all the guys now and they are a great bunch. Everything is very professional and although there are still a few issues to iron out with the car, we're all focused on being ready for Brands Hatch this weekend."

Meanwhile, the team have announced premium hand tool manufacturer and distributor Mac Tools as a technical partner. Mac Tools will meet all Jota Sport's tooling requirements in 2008.
