Bahraini star sets early pace in Saudi

Riyadh. Bahrain's Sheikh Salman Bin Rashid Al Khalifa set the early pace today as the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East moved towards its climax in Saudi Arabia.

Sheikh Salman was fastest in official practice for this afternoon's penultimate round of the 12-round series with a time of 1:16.354 at Reem International Circuit outside Riyadh this morning.

Teenager Fahad Algosaibi, who scored victory in last week's tenth round to become the youngest ever winner in Porsche one-make racing history, was second fastest in 1:16.766, ahead of Saudi's newly-crowned champion, Prince Abdulaziz Al Faisal, 1:16.772.

Reem Racing team-mates Bandar Alireza, 1:17.007, Faisal Binladen, 1:17.117, and Raed Abuzenadah, 1:17.218, completed the top six. Saudi's Prince Khaled Al Waleed is making a guest appearance at Reem where the inaugural Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East reaches its conclusion with tomorrow afternoon's 12th round.
