Bahraini driver fastest in qualifying for 5th round of Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East

Sheikh Salman claims pole position in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi. Bahrain's Sheikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa claimed pole position for the fifth round of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East at the Yas Marina Circuit this afternoon.

Underlining his liking for the spectacular Abu Dhabi venue where he is in the record books as the first ever race winner, Sheikh Salman was fastest in qualifying with a time of 2:14.943.

Second fastest in a time of 2:15.181 was Saudi Arabia's championship leader Prince Abdulaziz Al Faisal just ahead of his cousin and team-mate, Prince Khalid Al Faisal, in 2:15.383.

Teenager Fahad Algosaibi was third fastest in 2:15.656, with Abu Dhabi's Khaled Al Qubaisi, 2:15.692, and another Saudi driver, Bandar Alireza, 2:15.713, completing the top six.
