Sheikh Salman fastest in practice as Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge debuts in UAE

Bahraini driver sets the early pace in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi. Bahrain's Sheikh Salman Bin Rashid Al Khalifa set the early pace as the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East had its first outing at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi today.

Warming up for this afternoon's fifth round of the series, Sheikh Salman was fastest in official practice with a time of 2:15.711.

He was followed by teenager Fahad Algosaibi in 2:16.083 and Saudi Arabia's championship leader, Prince Abdulaziz Al Faisal, in 2:16.293.

Carrying the flag for the UAE in the new one-make Porsche series, Abu Dhabi's Khaled Al Qubaisi was fourth fastest with a time of 2:16.526, while Prince Khalid Al Faisal, 2:16.654, and another Saudi driver, Bandar Alesayi, 2:17.312, completed the top six.
