Carrera Cup: Curve and Points on Lacko's Mind
Adam Lacko is to experience third racing weekend in a row in Oschersleben. The 22-year-old Farnbacher Racing's pilot will take part in the second battle of the Porsche Carrera Cup series in Germany. The race with 40 pilots on the grid will again be part of the DTM series.
It was the older DTM vehicle - Mercedes Benz AMG CLK - which Lacko drove the last weekend in Brno. Together with his colleague Vaclav Nimc they finished second in the 3-hour endurance race, while their teammates Antoning Charouz-Stefan Mücke won, making the weekend very successful for the team AMG M3000-Charouz Racing System.
Lacko is familiar with the track from FIA Grand Turismo (Saleen S7R) and Divinol Cup (Alfa Rome 156) races. Early this year, he had the chance to taste a new thing: the sharp, thus very slow first bend which now resembles chicanes in Most or Monza. The only difference is that here the first bend is left while the Czech and Italian tracks see the cars turn right first.
The Oschersleben race will be broadcasted live by the Czech TV channel Galaxie Sport at 11:35.
Adam Lacko: "I don't quite like the new part. Before, the track had its interesting rhythm, which is lost now. Besides, I think it is more dangerous than the original curve. If the pilot behind can't brake soon enough, he will hit the turning car in front. I hope nothing happens, though. Apart from this I like the circuit and I believe I will be at least as fast as during the debut in Hockenheim, where after driving 10th in trainings I finished 14th in the race which brought me first two points. If I don't fail, I should be even better. I hope for the top ten."
Antonin Charouz: "Adam made a good step in the season. Not only get his times in PCC close to Jörg Hardt's, the team's No 1, but he also ran well in the Brno Spring Prix. I think he could gradually improve."
