2005 Promises To Be Busy For Gifted Open Wheel Expert-Wade Van Hooser

(Tulare, CALIFORNIA--January 7, 2005) -- Fifteen-year-old open wheel driver, Wade Van Hooser of Tulare, California is counting the days until May when he turns sixteen -- the age when most kids are looking forward to receiving their driver's licenses. For Van Hooser, it will mean the world for the 3-time Grand National go karting champion and SKI "Driver of the Year" who has been contacted by several teams and series to inquire about his plans for 2005 and the future. Reaching age 16 will open many doors for Van Hooser in a sport that limits drivers under the age of 16 from participating in many open wheel and auto racing series and races.

After being selected one of 28 drivers to participate in a FORMULA BMW USA Scholarship Qualifying Course held in September 2004, Van Hooser was then selected along with 6 other drivers to move on to the finals held January 2005 where each participant will be fitted in BMW FB2 race cars for the 2.5-mile "Circuit de la Comunitat" 9-turn road course. Circuit de la Comunitat located in Valencia, Spain (eastern coast of Spain, approximately 2.5 hours from Barcelona and 4 hours from the capitol of Madrid) is headquarters for the Formula BMW Racing Center, a school dedicated to the development of racing talent in single-seater cars.

Although Van Hooser was not selected as the RED BULL Driver Search winner during last year's Red Bull Driver Search finals in Portugal and Austria, Van Hooser (RED BULL Driver Search semi-finalist) is gearing up for the Formula BMW USA Scholarship Qualifying "Shoot Out" Course, January 12-13, 2005. Physically fit Van Hooser is ready and focused for the two-day course that will pit knowledge, experience and fitness among the talented young drivers.

For the winner --- in addition to the $40,000 scholarship award -- Formula BMW USA Juniors will be enrolled in a comprehensive education and coaching curriculum that includes special emphasis on physical fitness, media training, racing car set-up and driving technique.
