Barcelona 8 May 2002 The races of the WORLD SERIES will be retransmitted LIVE in TELEVISIÓN ESPAÑOLA. TVE is the owner of the TV Rights in Spain and has shown big interest in this International Single Seater competition program.
The Telefónica World Series by Nissan will be presented tomorrow at the Valencian Circuit.
The TELEFÓNICA WORLD SERIES BY NISSAN will gather almost 60 drivers representing 15 different countries. The WORLD SERIES features the spectacular Dallara Nissan SN01 (415 HP). The Formula One refugee Ricardo Zonta will be one of the most attended participants. Justin Wilson, former FIA F3000 Champ and Franck Montagny, winner of the Open Telefónica 2001, will be in the same team (Racing Engineering).
Only 7 Spaniards will participate in this top category. Antonio García and Polo Villaamil, will race in the Adrián Campos Motorsport team, owned by the former Formula One Spanish driver.
Gelete Nieto and Mathias Lauda will make their debut in the International Serie FIA Fórmula Nissan 2000. The Italian Matteo Bobbi (Vergani Racing), current test driver in the KL Minardi Asiatech F-1 Team is also participating in this Series.
The Formula Junior 1600 Spanish Championship will gather the very best of the young go-karting drivers. Leo Orecchioni and Juan Caceres will be the single international drivers in this category. Both are racing for the prestigious Italian squad CIBIEMME.
