Simtek joins the growing ranks.
Monday 7th April 2003: The 1995 Simtek Ford HB of former historic single-seater racer Paul Smith is the latest car with F1 credentials to join the ranks of the ever increasing EuroBOSS grid. The car achieved Simtek's best ever result having been driven to 9th place in the 1995 Argentine Grand Prix by Mimmo Schiattarella.
The Simtek connection remains strong and putting the car back on the track is an exciting prospect for Paul, whose company Dupaul Engineering of Newbury has a strong association with Formula One teams. Paul was involved with Simtek in its heyday and has remained good friends with designer and Team Principal Nick Worth. In fact, Nick has helped with the restoration and former Simtek driver David Brabham has tested the car.
The 2003 EuroBOSS Championship season powers off on Easter Monday at Silverstone on the International Circuit. Free practice starts at 09:25 and the battle for grid position gets underway in qualifying at 11:45, with the race planned for mid afternoon.
