ROYAL OAK, Michigan - October 28, 1998 - As race driver Todd Lamb took the seat in the #33 Barber Dodge Pro Series car, he knew that Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California was going to be an exciting and tough challenge for his debut in the series. Sponsored by www.race-net.com and www.toddlamb.com, Todd took to the 12 turn track and qualified 25th out of the 31 veteran drivers that entered the last round of the highly competitive series.

After some minor adjustments to the #33 Reynard Dodge, Lamb took the field during the warm-up session on Sunday and ran impressively among the top ten. This showing increased his chances for a strong finish among the seasoned veterans, who were vying for the $300,000 career enhancement award which is presented by Skip Barber to the season champion.

Shortly after the green flag flew for the start of the 40-minute race, a rollover accident in the corkscrew brought out the first of many full course yellows. Just prior to that incident, the Reynard Dodge of Brian Pelke spun in front of Lamb in turn five. Lamb, who had piloted the #33 car up to 19th position by that point, had no place to go. Contact ensued, putting both Pelke and Lamb out of the race with suspension damage.

For race winner Todd Snyder and series champion Jeff Simmons, the day was memorable. Separated by 2 points, both had a shot at the championship heading into the race. Simmons, by virtue of finishing second in the race, won the championship by just a few points over Snyder.

Todd Lamb - "The Barber Dodge cars are a challenge to drive - a lot different than the Speedvision Cup Supra. The combination of downforce and Michelin slicks gave me the feeling of being glued to the track. At first I was a little over conservative in the car because the practice session was very foggy. From then on I gained confidence every time out, and was expecting a great finish. I can't wait for the first race of '99!"
