Rounds 3 and 4 of the Formula Dodge National Championship Presented by RACER are set to get underway at New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, N.H. this weekend, June 3-4.
1999 Formula Dodge Mid Western Regional Champion Bryan Sellers scored 41 out of a maximum available 42 points at rounds 1 and 2 at Grattan Raceway in mid-May. Lagging one point behind is 2000 Formula Dodge Southern Regional Champion Craig Duerson who like Sellers garnered two victories on the weekend. Sellers took the advantage in qualifying where he started one race on pole thereby earning the extra point.
Behind the pair of Sellers and Duerson are 12 other drivers separated by a mere 13 points. Leading the charge is Skip Barber Karting Scholarship nominee Anthony Simone who scored a second and third-place finish at Grattan to arrive in New Hampshire ten points in arrears of Sellers with 31.
The field of 27 drivers will again be split into two groups with each racing once on Saturday and once on Sunday. Missing this weekend will be Landon Yee who sits eighth in the points as wellas Chris Wilcox, though both are expected to return for the next round. New additions the field will be Todd Russo and Levi Simoes.
Sellers will race in Group 2 where he will be up against Simone as well as some tough competition from Christian Szymczak, Tophie Stewart, Ryan Howe, Brian Angen and Damian Della-Santina. Duerson meanwhile will lead the charge in Group 1 where he will face some heavy opposition from Jon Morely, Caio Travaglini, Brian Rivera, Leonardo Maia, and Daniel Di Leo.
The races will be taking place on New Hampshire’s 1.6-mile, 9-turn road course that utilizes turns 1 and 2 of the oval before veering off onto the road course.
