(LAKEVILLE, Conn.) June 1, 2001-Marking its first venture north of the border, Skip Barber Racing School will host four days of Advanced Activities at Le Circuit Mont Trembant in Quebec. A Skip Barber Advanced Two Day Racing School will take place at the newly refurbished circuit on August 23-24 with Lapping to follow on the 25th and 26th of August, 2001.
"Coming to Mont Tremblant gives us the chance to offer Canadian drivers a fantastic opportunity to experience the World's Biggest and Best Racing School on Canadian soil for the first time and drive the most advanced racing school car - the Formula Dodge R/T 2000. It also gives our existing American customers the chance to come to the beautiful Quebec region and drive on a great racetrack," said Darren Marshall, Chief Operating Officer, Skip Barber, Inc.
Bridging the gap between the Skip Barber Three Day Racing School and the Skip Barber Race Series are a variety of programs dubbed Advanced Activities. These specialty programs which include Lapping and the Advanced Two Day Racing School are designed to hone and elevate the skills acquired in Racing School and prepare racers for the starting grid. Advanced activities are the fastest and safest means to competitive racing.
Both programs are conducted in the Formula Dodge R/T 2000 racecar. Shod with specially developed Michelin Pilot CS racing slicks and equipped with front and rear wings and a five-speed sequential gearbox, the R/T 2000 is capable of over 1.3g of cornering force and 145mph.
"We are enthused about the renovation of the track that's brought it up to the standards that attracts the number one racing school in North America," said Vincent Loughran Vice President of Operations at Le Circuit Mont Tremblant.
The 2.65-mile, 15-turn road course Circuit Mont Tremblant has recently undergone a complete renovation bringing it up to full FIA specification. This classic road circuit nestled in the mountains northwest of Montreal features an intoxicating blend of fast and slow corners mixing with dramatic changes in elevation.
Seats for each of the programs are limited. To reserve a seat, call 800.221.1131 in the United States or 860.435.1300 from Canada or inquire at firstname.lastname@example.org.
