Skip Barber Names New General Manager for Western Region

LAKEVILLE, Conn. (Jan.31) - Skip Barber Racing School, LLC, has appointed Art Michalik general manager, western region. Michalik comes to Skip Barber from Yokohama Tire Corp., where he most recently served as director of marketing communications.

Michalik has also held positions at Bridgestone/Firestone and at an automotive advertising agency. He began his assignment January 23 at Skip Barber's West Coast base, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

``Art comes to us with much experience in the automotive and performance industries,'' said SBRS President and COO George Ayers. ``He is also an enthusiast and a racing fan and we're excited that he'll be leading our team at Laguna Seca. With the recent launch of the new High Performance Driving School, 2006 will be a very busy year at this location.''

Headquartered in Lakeville, Conn., the Skip Barber Racing School is the world's largest racing and driving school, operating at close to 30 race tracks across the U.S. and Canada. In addition to the Racing School and the Dodge/Skip Barber Driving School, it also owns and operates six prestigious open-wheel racing championships: The Skip Barber National Presented by RACER; the four Skip Barber Regional Race Series championships (East, West, South and Midwest); and the Skip Barber Masters National.
