First race, first win once again for Chris Wehrheim who dominated the second round of the Skip Barber National Championship held at Virginia International Raceway. Chris who returned to competition after sitting out for 8 months started off the weekend by topping the first practice session. Chris went on to win both pole positions, one by a margin of 2.7 seconds over second place.

Race one went about as perfect as one could ask for. Starting from pole Chris gapped the field by 15 seconds and never looked back. This was Chris's first Skip Barber National race. Race two was cut short because of time restraints. Early in the race, Chris fell to second, but quickly reeled in the leader. On lap three Chris decided to make his move for the lead in turn one, but locked up the brakes and made slight contact with the leader. Chris would end up finishing 5th after the incident.

"What an awesome weekend," commented Wehrheim. "I can't thank Skip Barber enough for all of their support. This race gives me the confidence to head to Laguna and challenge for a win in the MX-5 Cup."

In two weeks, Chris will travel out to California for the opening round of the MX-5 Miata Cup where he will compete with P1-Motorsports. This is only a one off event, but Chris hopes to put together the funding to compete the full season.
