NICK RONDET SCORES FIRST BARBER DODGE WIN MINNEAPOLIS (July 6) - Nick Rondet of San Diego took advantage of a big first corner pileup at the start involving points leader Rino Mastronardi, three-time race winner Derek Hill and polesitter Jarle Gasland to cruise to his first win in the SCCA Pro Racing Barber Dodge Pro Series at the Sprint PCS Grand Prix of Minnesota. Rondet threaded his way through the crashed cars and after the re-start distanced himself handily from second place finisher Andy Boss. Giovanni Gulinelli inherited third place from Tony Renna when Renna's gearbox broke. Hill rejoined the race and worked his way to a seventh place finish and is now within two points of Mastronardi in the title chase. (Rick Roso)
