Nicolas Rondet Keeps Pole LEXINGTON, Ohio (Aug. 9, from Rick Roso) - With no driver in the top 10 able to improve on his time from yesterday, Skip Barber Big Scholarship driver Nicolas Rondet earned his first Barber Dodge Pro Series pole position and will lead a 28-car field in Sundays 30-minute race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. I knoew within five laps that the track was much slower than Friday, Rondet said. So all I did was make sure the car was handling right for the race. Points leader Rino Mastronardi retained his outside front row starting spot. His main contender for the championship, Derek Hill, was expected to improve regardless of track conditions, after having had an anti-roll bar break in yesterdays first qualifying session, slid off into the tire barriers when his foot slipped off the brake pedal entering the 180-degree Keyhole Turn. Hill will start sixth. Hollywood celebrity Marc-Paul Gosselaar had his best qualifying to date and will start 10th, while teammate Sean Patrick Flanery will line up 24th.
