August 14-16, 2003 -Lakeville, Connecticut - Skip Barber Scholarship driver Joe D'Agostino scores a top five finish at Lime Rock Park.

This past weekend the Formula Dodge National Championship headed to the famous Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut for round ten and eleven.

Practice on Thursday went well for D'Agostino as he settled in and found a good rhythm on the 1.51 mile course. "The car feels good and I am happy with my pace so far, I still need to get a better balance out of the car to go faster," said D'Agostino.

With the two race format drivers have only one qualifying for each race. D'Agostino would qualify 9th for Friday's race and 7th for Saturday's, with each of the grids having the top 10 separated by less than .5 seconds.

Friday's race allowed D'Agostino to demonstrate what he has learned so far this year by working his way up to 6th position. Unfortunately D'Agostino would encounter a mechanical problem which forced him to retire early. D'Agostino had this to say, "This mechanical definitely hurt my championship standings, but that's racing. All I can do is hope tomorrow's race is better."

Saturday's race would prove to be better as D'Agostino would earn yet another top five finish in the series. D'Agostino moved up well through a field of tough competitors and held off a late charge en route to another 4th place finish. "I'm really happy with this result as my family was here to see the race. I was really hoping for a yellow flag there at the end, since I had a really fast car and I think I could have been a threat. This weekend I learned a lot more about myself, my strengths and my weaknesses, and now know what my goals are for the next race," said the 18-year old Floridian.

The series next event will be at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California on October 10-11.

D'Agostino wishes to thank all of his sponsors, Arai, Corsa, Kart Mini, MG Tires, Dodge, Michelin, Skip Barber Racing School and all of his personal sponsors.
