December 24, 2003 -- Plantation, Florida -- D'Agostino selected for 2004 Team USA Scholarship
After a two-year hiatus the Team USA Scholarship is back again headed by Jeremy Shaw. The Team USA Scholarship gives young American drivers the opportunity to race in the Talley's New Zealand International Formula Ford Championship, contested during the entire month of January.
One of the three drivers selected to make the voyage just after Christmas Day will be 18-year old Joe D'Agostino of Plantation, Florida. D'Agostino will be teaming with Charlie Kimball and Ryan Millen for the month.
"This is truly a great honor," said D'Agostino, who raced in this year's Formula Dodge National Championship Presented by Racer and recently won the Skip Barber Big-Scholarship Shootout to secure $100,000 towards the 2004 Barber Dodge Pro Series Championship. "Racing in New Zealand will give me a great opportunity to represent my country and hone my skills in preparation for the 2004 season. I know that I am going to learn and grow tremendously as a racing driver while in there," concluded D'Agostino.
D'Agostino wishes to thank all of his sponsors, Arai, Corsa, Kart Mini, MG Tires, Dodge, Michelin, Skip Barber Racing School and all of his personal sponsors.
D'Agostino would also like to wish all of his sponsors, friends, and family Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year. "Thank you all for your support this year, reading your emails and knowing that all of you are behind me has really helped me get through some of the tough times over the season. I wish to let you all know that you are in my thoughts and in my heart. Thank you so much for everything, all of you."
