Watkins Glen, NY (September 17, 1999) - Jeff Simmons and Todd Snyder would both like to be the next Juan Motoya or Kenny Brack, and they may well be as they both attempt to claim the Barber Dodge Pro Series title at Watkins Glen during the Bosch Sports Car Oktoberfest weekend. History shows the Barber Dodge Pro Series - a series that features identically prepared, open wheel Indy-style cars powered by Dodge motors - has launched the careers for some of today's biggest racing superstars, including CART series rookie and points leader, Juan Montoya and Indy 500 winner Kenny Brack. Brack is the 1993 champion of the Barber Dodge Pro Series and Montoya and Herta are both graduates of the highly competitive series. Simmons currently leads Snyder by 15 points in the championship battle for the Barber Dodge Pro Series, a support race for the FIA GT Championship Series held at Watkins Glen, October 1 - 3. The Barber Dodge Pro Series will start at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Also running as support races throughout the weekend are the Motorola Cup and the SCCA's Pro Spec Racer Series. The Motorola Cup, a 3-hour endurance race starting at 1:30 p.m., is the featured race on Saturday that in the past has fielded celebrity drivers such as Jason Priestly and Tim Allen. The SCCA Pro Spec Racer series event will open the weekend racing action on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Tickets for the Bosch Sports Car Oktoberfest are now available.
