Formula Dodge 2004 Schedule Released

LAKEVILLE, Conn. (Feb. 6) - The Formula Dodge National Championship Presented by RACER, an official ladder series to the Champ Car World Series, announced its 2004 schedule today. As has been the case since 2000, the 14-race championship is comprised of seven double- race weekends, and for the second year in a row the FDNC opener will be at the Mobil1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in March. The championship will wrap up the year at the Champ Car World Series event at Road America in August.

Skip Barber Racing's Vice-President of Racing, Divina Galica, said, "With the Barber Dodge Pro Series on sabbatical, our focus in 2004 will be on making important improvements in many areas of the National Championship. FDNC is not to take its place, but there are benefits to this series that we want to make even more attractive to karters and other young racers. We will also have some exciting news to announce very soon regarding prize funds and scholarships."

The Formula Dodge National Championship Presented by RACER is owned and operated by Skip Barber Racing, Lakeville, Conn. The series employs 26 identically prepared 150hp 2.0-liter, sequential gearbox, wings-and-slicks Formula Dodge single-seat race cars. A full season of 14 races (seven race weekends) costs $37,800 (EURO29,776; UKPOUND20,500; CAN50,200).
