Skip Barber Formula Dodge National Championship releases 2003 schedule.

The Skip Barber Formula Dodge National Championship presented by Racer Magazine released its 2003 schedule today, with seven rounds slated for the Championship season, with each weekend featuring two races. The season will get underway at the 51st running of the famed 12 Hours of Sebring in mid-March, and will conclude in mid-October at Laguna Seca. The series will also race in Canada, with a round at Mosport Park slated in mid-June.

"We are really happy with the new schedule. Having the opportunity to race at the 12 Hour in Sebring is an exciting opportunity for these young racers," said Skip Barber Formula Dodge National Championship Series Director Divina Galica. "The schedule will allow these drivers to get a lot of seat time at every track we visit. We are also excited about racing again in Canada at Mosport, as its such a fantastic track."

2002 Formula Dodge National Champion Grant Maimen was selected as a winner in the Red Bull Formula One drivers search this winter, and will compete in Europe during the 2003 season. Scott Poirer, who won a season of racing in the Formula Dodge National Championship at the National Championship Shootout last year, took second place in the season standings and will contest the 2003 Barber Dodge Pro Series after securing funding in the Barber-CART Shootout in December. Joe D'Agostino, Phillippe Gelinas, Matt Jaskol, and David Jurca will contest the Formula Dodge National Championship after securing funded seats at this week's Barber-CART Karting Scholarship.
