Under windy hard conditions, Repsol driver Angel Burgueño clearly set the path for the fastest timed lap in the first session (1.27.7). Burgeño holds the official record in victories in the Series History, after young Antonio García (Red Bull Junior Team), former 2000 winner of the Series who will make his debut in the F3000 Series tomorrow, in Brazil. Nevertheless, former F3000 driver Frank Montagny has prooved to be the best rookie in the very first meeting lapping (1.27.692) in the final session. Close up with the third fastest lap has been Young Southafrican Tomas Sheckter (1.27.844), in front of the Spaniard Rafael Sarandeses . The 21 year old driver is mates Matteo Bobbi and Borja García in the top team Adrian Campos Motorsport. Ex-Formula One Driver Adrian Campos holds the team record of vitories.
PSN Racing argentinian drivers Mariano Acebal and Leandro Iglesias were 18th and 19th respectively in their Open Telefonica Baptism.
