Circuit of Albacete, May 10th.- The responsibles of the Consorcio del Circuito de Albacete and members of the Diputación Provincial, alongside to Mr. Sanchez Marín , Director of the Circuit, presented this morning to the local media the third meeting of the Open Telefónica Series, that will take place the next 11th, 12th, and 13th of May. The instalation will present several improvements like fresh painted areas, the new VIP Area located in the Main Tower and the new catering service operating in the inside Restaurant. The Circuit has nowadays an occupation of 261 days and the next year its track will be extended to a total lenght of 4 km.
Ramón Soto, member of the Consorcio and Diputado Provincial, underlined that Albacete and their different events are strongly promoted from this political statement and contribute to enhace the nice little area of Albacete (Castilla-La Mancha). In this sense, the Diputación Provincial has done an extraoedinary campaing of the new services of the Circuit during the local Turism Show.The local government is strongly supporting this instalation. José Luis García, the Council in charge of the Circuit has been very enthusiastic in his coments regarding the Series organizaed by RPM Racing: “It would be a great show this week-end. The Open Telefonica is the reference now in Europe for competition.Apart from the high technical side of the event, the ludic areas located in the Paddock are a strong claim for the whole family, let’s say the F-1 Simulator, the pocket-bikes, the go-karting traks....”
Franck Montagny (23), the current leader racing for Epsilon by Graff departed with the local media in a special lunch offered to present the new catering service. “C’est delicieux....”, said the Frenchman, “Now, serious talking, I don’t know the track but Epsilon and Ravier did very well last year. My hopes for Sunday are quite optimistic, but I prefer to speak when I have recognized the track after the Free Sessions tomorrow.”
Milka Duno (28),the Venezuelan Driver that will take part in the 24 hours of Le Mans asked the media to see her as a driver, with respect: “To be a woman is not that special, you know, I have to train as hard as they do, and believe me, this year the Series has a big sort of young and talented drivers. My aim is to improve day by day is this competitive Single-Seater Series, and try to shorten the gap with the lead.” Duno know already Albecete, as she was testing with Vergani in a Collective Session: “It is so technical. To find the right set-up is the most difficults as you find all sort of speed entering or exiting from the turns.”
