Manuel Giao Steps To The Fifth Position In The Overall Standings
The National Court Of Appeal From The Real Federacion Española De Automovilismo

Barcelona, May 9th.-. The Nissan engines of the Coloni Single-Seaters will sound out loud in the third meeting of the OPEN TELEFONICA Series that will take place this week-end in the technical Circuit of Albacete (Spain). 24 cars will be on the grid the next Sunday, representing 7 different nations.

This morning the Real Federacion Española de Automovilismo has announced that the National Court of Appeal valided the Appeal of the Portuguese Driver Manuel Giao (Scuderia Fama). During the Meeting celebrated at El Jarama Circuit, the 1st of April, the Stewards of the Meeting penalized Manuel Giao after considering that Giao had zig-zagued during the formation lap.

The Portuguese Appealed and now his Appeal has prospered. So Manuel is now fifth in the Overall Standings, something that has been much celebrated in his Italian based team as well as in Portugal, where Giao have a lot of supporters.

MARTIN AND FAJAS WILL MAKE THEIR DEBUT

While Franck Montagny and Tomas Scheckter will battle for the lead of the Open Telefonica, the Series will have two newcomers from Spain. Abel Fajas (20) a go-karting driver from Catalonia, and Carlos Martin (17), Runner Up in the National Saxo Cup in the Junior Category, original from Tenerife (Canary Islands).

Two young Spanish drivers in search of a dream, like Marc Gene (BMW.Williamsf1), Fernando Alonso (European Minardi) and Antonio Garcia (Red Bull F-3000 Team),

Races will take place Sunday 13th, at 12h05 (18 laps) and at 14h05 (28 laps).
