Great equalty: thirteen drivers in one second

The Court of Appeal of the Spanish Federation rejects Vergani Racing^Òs appeal and confirms Garcia as the current series leader

Circuito del Jarama, 19 May.- In the same way than yesterday in collective testing, Spaniard Antonio García (Adrián Campos Motorsport) clocked today the best lap time (1.26.823) in collective practices. Double joy for the 19-year old driver as Court of Appeal of the Spanish Federation has confirmed the double exclusion of Italian driver Giuseppe Burlotti at Catalunya. Garcia is, as a result, the Open Telefonica current leader, even though that will not be officialized if Vergani Racing decides to appeal to the International Federation. ^ÓThis is a possibility we are now evaluating^Ô, said Vergani team manager Francesco Marzi.

Most of favourites finished today on top positions. Giuseppe Burlotti was second and Portuguese Rui Aguas fourth, behind an astonishing Spaniard, Jordi Nogués, the rookie driver who got his first podium in the Open at the last meeting at Catalunya.

Jarama is a very difficult circuit to reach the right set-up. That is the reason why a lot of drivers have had lots of trouble today. That is the case of Spaniard Angel Burgueno (Ergoline EC Motorsport), double race-winner at Jarama in 1998 (fifth today) and also Rafael Sarandeses (Ericsson Challenge by GTEC), winner of one race last year and 13th today.

Tomorrow qualifiers will take place at 10.00 and 13.05 hours local time and they will define the grid positions for each of both races on Sunday.
