ALTON, VA, OCTOBER 27. Bryan Sellers won the 2002 Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship by dominating the season, winning eight of the 14 races. Sellers tied the series record for wins with a pair of victories this weekend at the VIR SpeedFest, the final races of the season. Almost all of Sellers' wins were flag-to-flag, and he led the majority of laps run during the year.

"Winning the Championship fulfills the dream we had at the start of the season," said Sellers. "The team has been fantastic all year, I owe a lot of my success to them. My sponsors, the YES Network and 3 Dimensional Services, made the season possible for me, and they are a big part of this championship. I can't wait to drive the CART car (which Sellers earns for winning the championship). Not many people ever get the chance to drive one."

Sellers, 20, lives in Centerville, Ohio. The former karting champion is in only his fourth year of racing cars. He was selected as one of the two drivers for the 2002 TEAM USA, finishing second in the New Zealand International Formula Ford Series.

In addition to Sellers' championship, his team, Cape Motorsports, won the Zetec Team Championship. Van Diemen, the chassis raced by Sellers, won the series' Manufacturer's Championship. Sellers' Zetec Ford engines were built by Quicksilver, which won the Engine Builder of the Year award.
