Brumbaugh to test for UPS Porsche-Junior Team!
Andy Brumbaugh, 18, will be testing in Leipzig, Germany on November 12th and 13th for the UPS Porsche-Junior Team. This team engages young and talented drivers in the Porsche Carrera Cup and in some races of the Porsche Michelin Supercup. The Porsche Carrera Cup is the support race for nine DTM events, while the Prsche Michelin Supercup is the support race for 11 Formula 1 events in Europe and the US.
The aim of the junior team program is to support, educate and promote young talents over a three year period on their way to becoming professional drivers.
Brumbaugh, who recently finished the Formula 2000 Zetec Championship Series in 9th place, is ecstatic about this opportunity. "While I have concentrated on open-wheel cars in the past, this is a fabulous opportunity. The possibility of racing in Europe has always been a dream of mine. I am confident that I can learn to drive the Porsche 911 with skill and speed."
Brumbaugh won the Canadian Formula Ford Championship and Rookie of the Year in 2001, his first year of professional racing. Prior to that, he was a five time karting champion and SCCA Club Ford national champion. Follow his progress on www.andybrumbaugh.com or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
