PIKES PEAK INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY 3 OF 7 FIELDS SET FOR PPIR'S JAM-PACKED CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL GRAND PRIX WEEKEND

FOUNTAIN, Colo. - The starting grids are set for three of seven championship races set for this weekend in the second annual Children's Hospital Grand Prix of Colorado at Pikes Peak International Raceway located near Colorado Springs.

Terry Borcheller of Phoenix (World Challenge), David Besnard of Sydney, Australia (U.S. Formula 2000) and Warren Stilwell of Hartwell, Ohio (Spec Racer Ford Pro) won their respective poles Friday during qualifying for Saturday's championship races.

This is the most action-packed weekend of the season at PPIR as the two-year-old facility closes the season with five races on the 1.34-mile road course and two more on the 1-mile oval.

Saturday's racing begins at 8 a.m. with practice and qualifying.

The feature event of the weekend is the SCCA NTB Trans-Am series and qualifying for North America's longest running road racing series is set for 10 a.m.

Saturday afternoon is devoted to the three championship races along with qualifying on the oval for 36 SARA Late Model Stock Cars and the Cornwell Tools USAC Western States Sprint Car series.
