Dane Cameron Gains Pole in First Appearance in Round 11
Las Vegas, NV. (October 18, 2008) - Dane Cameron driving in the Silicon Salvage, DFR Van Diemen turned in a lap of 1:23.679 to take the pole position by .859 of a second over teammate Robert Podlesni driving the Terminal Velocity/Alpinestars, DFR Van Diemen (1:24.538) for round 11 of the Terminal Velocity Processing Pacific F2000 Series presented by Hankook. Cameron is sitting in for Chuck Hulse in who will return to action in the series' final event tomorrow was the only driver to break 1:24.
Starting from the third position will be series point leader Jeff Westphal in his TNT Demolition/Cacci Construction PR1 Van Diemen (1:24.622) alongside PR1 Motorsports teammate Nick Freytag in his G-Phactory/Sodi Karts Van Diemen (1:24. 640) who along with Westphal and Podlesni were the only drivers to break into the 1:25 second range.
The third row will also feature PR1 Motorsports teammates Shaun Modisette in his Carson Trailers Van Diemen (1:25.568) and Max Hyatt in his Performance Drink Van Diemen (1:26.111).
With PR1 Motorsports and DRF locking up the first three rows, row four is made up of two single car entrants, Peter Hansel, GS610 Maximum Performance Brake Fluid Van Diemen (1:26.200) and Scott Rarick, Piper/Fast Forward/Red Line Oil Piper DF5 (1:26.654).
Rounding out the top ten are Peter Hastrup, Western Building Materials, DFR Van Diemen (1:26.841) and Ira Fierberg, Injury Law/Sparco USA, DRF Van Diemen (1:26.979).
Others included Jim Wilson in his first race in the series driving a Terminal Velocity, DFR Van Diemen, Les Phillips, Swiss Implants Mygale, the returning Bill Kincaid after missing rounds 9 and 10 with his Van Diemen, Gary Peterson, Van Diemen, Richard Lai Fatt, Mygale and newcomer Mark Young, Van Diemen.
Round eleven is scheduled to take the green flag at 3:30 pm local time.
