FAIRFIELD, N.J. (January 26, 2000) — The U.S. F2000 National Championship presented by Speedvision and The Jim Russell Racing Drivers School have formed a strategic partnership to assist school graduates in moving into F2000, and up the motorsports ladder. The U.S. F2000 National Championship, which offers the complete motorsport education, is providing a free series registration and a 50 percent discount on all the race entry fees to 1999 Russell USAC Triple Crown Pro Series Champion Tyler McQuarrie for the 2000 season. In addition, the U.S. F2000 will provide the 2000 Russell USAC Triple Crown Champion an all-inclusive ride with a top U.S. F2000 team at the 2000 season finale doubleheader at Road Atlanta, part of the Petit Le Mans race weekend. The prize includes free entry and race car rental, two days of pre-event testing and a free on-board camera for both races. In return, the Jim Russell School will present the U.S. F2000 Crew Chief and Mechanic of the Year awards, new for 2000, at the season-ending banquet. The Crew Chief of the Year is an annual award given to the Championship-winning driver's crew chief, while the Mechanic of the Year award will be voted on by the top mechanic's peers, and will recognize the talents and efforts of the best mechanic in the series. Both awards include a free three-day competition Russell Racing School. "The U.S. F2000 series is by far the best choice for Russell racers seeking to move on to top-level professional racing" said Russell President Ron Landthorn. "We believe the unmatched combination of large grids, top venues, great TV coverage and level playing field provides the perfect proving ground for future racing stars, and we're pleased to be working closely with the series to help advance the careers of top racers."
