JDC MOTORSPORTS SET TO EXTEND F2000 CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES PODIUM RUN AT
American Chris Miller has one win and two runner-up finishes in the past three races
MINNEAPOLIS, MN. (June 10, 2009) -- JDC MotorSports travels "North of the Border" this weekend (June 13-14), taking part in Rounds Five and Six of the F2000 Championship Series at Mosport International Raceway in Canada. For its drivers Chris Miller and Alejandro Munoz, the doubleheader presents the next opportunity to advance their championship dreams, with Miller having already visited victory lane in 2009 and currently third in the title chase.
After racing at the fast Lime Rock Park road course in the previous event back on Memorial Day weekend, the JDC MotorSports duo will be challenged by yet another high-speed track, when the F2000 championship travels to the renowned Mosport International Raceway for a second consecutive year.
Miller not only enters the Canadian doubleheader third in the championship standings, but as the hottest driver in series competition. In addition to winning Round Two from the pole position, the No. 85 Miller Milling/Red Line Oil/JDC MotorSports Van Diemen RF06/Zetec driver scored back-to-back runner-up finishes in Connecticut. Given this run of fine form, many expect Miller to better his eighth and fifth place results earned last year at Mosport.
Munoz, a native of Mexico, commences his third career F2000 event seeking to continue his progression behind the wheel. While the No. 96 Black Lion Racing/Redline Oil/JDC MotorSports Van Diemen RF01/Zetec race pilot did not earn the results he desired in Rounds Three and Four, both he and the JDC MotorSports team remain confident he can challenge for positions in the upper half of the talented field.
"I really excited for the Mosport event," stated team owner John Church. "Both guys are ready to go and we hope to have some great results this weekend as the season nears the half way point"
The JDC MotorSports drivers will get their first chance to sample the high-speed Mosport International Raceway course on Friday (June 12) with two practice sessions. The F2000 Championship Series competitors will conduct a morning practice session on Saturday (June 13), prior to Round Three getting underway at 1:55 p.m. local time. The grid for Round Four will be set on Sunday morning (June 14), followed by race two of the doubleheader 12:00 p.m.
