JDC MOTORSPORTS SEEKS FIRST F2000 CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES TITLE AT MID-OHIO
Miller enters the season finale with a 24-point advantage in the championship fight
MINNEAPOLIS, MN. (August 12, 2009) -- JDC MotorSports will attempt to achieve its goal of winning the F2000 Championship Series title this weekend (August 15-16), when Rounds 11 and 12 are contested at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. American standout Chris Miller, who will once again be partnered with series rookie Alejandro Munoz, enters the season-finale doubleheader as the current championship leader and as one of the favorites to visit victory lane.
After five months of hard fought wheel-to-wheel action, the series title in the F2000 Championship Series will come down to a pair of races at the technical Mid-Ohio road course with JDC MotorSports among the favorites to take home top honors. Miller, in his second year of series competition, has been at the forefront of the title chase since day one, piloting the No. 85 Miller Milling/Red Line Oil/JDC MotorSports Van Diemen RF06/Zetec race pilot to three wins and eight podium finishes. As a result, the Edina, MN., drivers travels to Mid-Ohio as the driver everyone is chasing in the title fight, holding a 24-point advantage prior to the two races when drops are calculated.
For Munoz, the F2000 doubleheader at Mid-Ohio is an opportunity to further improve his racecraft and end the season on a high note. Piloting the No. 96 Black Lion Racing/Redline Oil/JDC MotorSports Van Diemen RF01/Zetec entry, the Mexican rookie has steadily gained confidence and experience as the season progressed. The challenging 2.25-mile road course is the ideal setting for Munoz to end his first full season of professional racing and build momentum going forward into 2010.
JDC MotorSports first takes to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Friday (August 14), with a pair of 30-minute practice sessions. Both day two and day three of the season-ending event will feature a 25-minute qualifying session, followed by Rounds 11 and 12 at 2:55 p.m. local time.
