Sonoma, CA. Following the sell-out of its season opening performance at the SaveMart/Kragen 350 NASCAR Winston Cup event, the Russell USAC Triple Crown Pro Series, presented by Yokohama, has announced an additional date for the 1999 season. This popular formula car spec series will visit Northern California's Thunderhill Park on September 25th for round three of the four-race USAC championship battle. The additional date will further increase the intense competition in this series, (which is open to licensed USAC, SCCA, and FIA drivers,) since now the top three finishes will count toward the championship.

NEW 1999 TRIPLE CROWN SCHEDULE

Round 1 June 26 SaveMart/Kragen 350 Winston Cup,

Round 2 July 25 American LeMans Series, Sears Point Raceway

Round 3 August 25 USAC Russell Triple Crown Pro Series, Thunderhill Park

Round 4 October 16 USAC Coors Silver Bullet Series, Irwindale Speedway

Each of the 16 competitors in the Russell Pro Series, now in its 15th year, is vying for full USAC National Champion honors and a variety of cash and racing prizes - including a test with a top USF2000 team. Last year's Triple Crown Champion, Niklas Loven of Sweden, parlayed his title honors into a full ride in the Porsche Cup series in Europe.
